WIT Network Tech Track Training
We have finished our first round of training for the WIT Network Tech Track Training sponsored by Microsoft.
This program was a monumental task and we could not have completed it without the help of the WIT Network and our close partners over at Microsoft.
Increasing women’s presence in the tech industry is a core mission of Fast Lane and we hope to create more opportunities through these types of initiatives.
TechHer Digital Academy
As part of our Women in Technology initiatives, we offer many free resources for women who want to advance their skills and gain a Microsoft certification in Azure Cloud and Artificial Intelligence.
Digital Literacy Scholarship Program
In 2021 we partnered with Titus Parenting and Zip & Go Assist to provide training on digital literacy. This program offered a scholarship to women of color that gave them hands-on training to allow them to gain the computer skills needed in today’s business world.
The program was designed to help women who lost their jobs during the pandemic, women who had to stop working outside the home to care for their children, and for former front-line workers who wanted to learn computer skills in order to work remotely for businesses. We helped 24 women gain the skills and knowledge needed in today’s technical world.
Training Initiative on International Women's Day
On International Women's Day, we invite women to free one-day events and want to specifically inspire women to choose an IT career.
WiT CloudPower Scholarship Program
There is an employment, pay, and culture gap for women in the technology field and part of our mission as an educator is to find ways to help close that gap.
The WiT CloudPower Scholarship Program helps women seize an opportunity to skill up and get certified in Azure in order to position themselves for advancement. We launched the scholarship program on April 1, 2020, starting off with 50 available spots and the program was filled in less than two days. Three total cohorts have now gone through the program and we have provided scholarships to 95 women throughout the past two years.
Tech Equity Scholarship Program
We recently partnered with the International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners (IAMCP) and Voices for Innovation (VFI) to provide training on Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
This program offers a scholarship to qualified individuals who are looking to develop or advance their IT careers. Students will be provided with hands-on training to allow them to gain fundamental skills and knowledge needed to become a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Veterans Employability Program
Fast Lane US worked with the City of L.A., JVS SoCaL and Microsoft to develop a cloud skilling program for veterans in 2021. All 25 veteran candidates from the first program have achieved certification and 75% of them have secured jobs. Four more cohorts of veteran skilling programs with a total of 60 veterans ran in 2022.
